The-Lao-coffee-2

We leave Pakse and head off towards the Bolaven Plateau. Along the way we pass through some of the tea and coffee plantations that this area is famous for! We arrive in a small village where we meet our local guide and start our trek. As we hike through the forest the guide will use their local knowledge to teach us about the different animals in the forest and the many different plants that local villagers traditionally gather to use for a wide range of purposes. We walk through coffee farms and bamboo forests giving way to thick forest. We continue walking until we arrive at a small waterfall, where we stop for lunch.

After relaxing by the waterfall, we trek through the dense forest before making our way down the mountain to another waterfall. We will set up our camp here at the base of the falls before spending some time relaxing and swimming in this beautiful spot. Our guides will prepare a delicious dinner cooked over the campfire.

Approximately: 4–4.5hours trekking and 1.5hours transfer

Day 2: Tad Taget Waterfall > Tad Kamue Waterfall > Dan Ngai > Non Luang > Tad Fane > Pakse

Bolaven-Waterfalls-2

After a delicious local breakfast we trek uphill through Dong Hua Sao National Park. Along the way you will hear different birds singing and if we are extremely lucky we might see monkeys as they pass along the trail. We continue walking until we stop for lunch at the amazing Tad Kamue Waterfall.

After lunch and relaxing by the waterfall we continue trekking to the surreal looking Danh Ngai Limestone Cliffs. Here we can take in some stunning views of Champasak Province. After admiring the views we trek back to the village on a different trail. When we arrive in the village we board our waiting vehicle for the return to Pakse. On the way back we stop off at the stunning 120M high Tad Fane Waterfall, which is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the whole of Laos! We arrive back in Pakse in the late afternoon.
